We thank all our volunteers

On behalf of the Ugandan UK Convention board of directors, I would like to personally thank you for your recent input towards the 2nd Ugandan UK Convention and Diaspora Investment Expo 2012.  This event could not have been a success without a team effort to which you and the many other volunteers made a positive impact.

The Convention running its second was a success, and we managed to achieve our primary objectives among others;

  • Promote the exchange of information, research and expertise and encourage new business interaction and relationships
  • Identify potential opportunities in Uganda and mobilise Ugandans in the Diaspora to invest back home and increase the role of Ugandan Diaspora in Uganda’s development
  • Seek investment opportunities in public and private organizations within Uganda, the United Kingdom and Europe and inform Ugandans in the Diaspora
  • Promote economic initiatives for businesses, trade and commerce amongst Ugandans in the Diaspora
  • Utilize the intellectual and financial capital of the Diaspora for the purpose of improving the livelihood of all Ugandans
  • Mentor Ugandan youths in the Diaspora to instil in them a sense of nationalism and become responsible citizens
  • Inspire and encourage a unity among Ugandans in Europe
  • To support us further our vision, we would appreciate it if you could bring forward comments which will bring upon improvement within the Convention.

We have uploaded most of the speeches on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/ugandansinuk

We look forward to working with you again next year at the 3nd Ugandan UK Convention, set to take place on 14th Sept 2013 in the same venue.

The organisation could not do what it does without the support of the community. Thank you once again for your invaluable input of time, views and ideas and being part of the great work of the Uganda UK Convention.
