Navio the most award- winning hip hop artist in Uganda has joined other Ugandan top artist to entertain Ugandans at the 2nd Ugandan Convention on 15tth Sept 2012.
The convention is also an opportunity to celebrate Uganda’s Golden Jubilee, as well as a reflection as to how far the country has come and the role of the diaspora in Uganda’s development.
Among the top artists to perform at the Convention includes Bobi Wine, Iryn Namubiru, Judith Babirye, ACDArts (Cultural Troupe), The Crackers Commediain and many others.
This one day investment and trade conference will run alongside the 2nd Ugandan Convention UK. The conference will be promoting Uganda as a preferred investment destination in Africa. It will offer a premier learning platform to present new perspectives, ‘feel the pulse’ of doing business in Uganda, network, build new partnerships and strengthen existing alliances with the right business partners at the highest level.
Among his many achievements Navio was the most nominated artist at the 2011 Channel O music awards with nominations for Best Male Artist, Best Hip Hop Artist and Best Video of the year for “Keep Moving”.
In addition, he was first artist in Africa to be nominated twice in the same category at the Kora Awards, the “African Grammies” in 2008. He has also won or been nominated for over 30 local and international awards and performed in over 20 cities worldwide.
Some of his awards include: Best Hip-Hop Artist at the Pearl of Africa Music (PAM) Uganda awards 2008 and 2010, Best Video at the PAM awards in 2007 and 2010 and nominations in Kenya for the Kisima Awards 2008 as Best Male Artist, Best Video and Best Hip Hop Artist.
He is well known across Africa for his quality music, outstanding videos and powerful performances especially with his involvement in ONE8, an African super group featuring international megastar R Kelly. ONE8’s single, “Hands Across the World” was a No 1 single in several countries internationally as well as generating thousands of hits on You Tube.
Having successfully conquered the East African market, Navio is now taking the next step and looking to make his name internationally. As a starting point, in April 2012, Navio earned the award of Best East African artist at the African Entertainment Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With the release of his latest track, “One&Only”, Navio is poised to take the next step in his growing career.

The story of “One&Only” the video
The story of sees Navio going on various adventure activities with a group of beautiful girls to find out who is his “One& Only”. The story sees the group go on a variety of adventure activities starting with quad biking, then bungee jumping and finally shark diving. Along the way girls start dropping out until in the end he is left with his “One&Only” girl.
About the video
The video was shot in Durban, South Africa at a variety of beautiful locations including Oribi Gorge, which is the site of the world’s longest swinging bungee. Navio and the models featured in the video did all their own stunts including the bungee jump to get the spectacular aerial footage.
Quad biking scenes were carried out on a large farm estate to capture the high speed chase scenes featured in the video. In addition, the shark diving scene featured scenes with real sharks shot with an underwater camera as Navio and the models swam in a shark cage.
