Irene is an Under Secretary and Senior Private Secretary to the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports

She has served Government for the last 27 years. She worked with the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control for 14 years prior to her current role.

She is passionate about leadership development and has undertaken several leadership courses including a Master of Arts in Organisational Leadership and Management from UCU and a Master of Arts in Public Adminstration and Management from Makerere University

She is an alumnus of the Haggai Advanced Leadership Institute in Hawaii, the Destiny Leadership school, Development Associates International, Institute for National Transformation and SALT among others.

She currently serves as the Haggai Institue Vice President in Uganda. She also serves on the Apostolic team of INUKA Africa a ministry committed to raising transformational leaders on the Afrucan Continent.

She serves on the following Boards: Development Associates International, Uganda Youth Forum and Vision for Africa
