The theme of the first ever Uganda Convention UK, which took place on 27th August 2011 at the prestigious Troxy in East London, was ‘Harnessing the Potential of the Ugandan Diaspora’. The event was extremely well attended with Ugandans from all over Europe in full attendance. Guests of honour included various ministers from Uganda, several High Commissioners and Ambassadors from Europe, delegates and representatives of many prominent Ugandan businesses and enterprises.

Exhibitors also included representatives of several Ugandan financial institutions, business leaders, government officials, professionals from Europe and Uganda, organisations in the voluntary sector, several UK universities and many Ugandan Diaspora-based businesses.
