Mr Amoz Nzeyi is Executive Chairman of Crown Beverages Ltd, the Ugandan franchise of Pepsi Cola, a business he started just over 21 years ago, with two other shareholders. Mr Nzeyi will be one of the business leaders to take part in a discussion at the Ugandan UK Convention, taking place on 13th Sept 2014 at Troxy Arena in London.
The forum is all about sharing and opening up ideas to help businesses succeed, about inculcating ethical business principles, providing a networking forum where information and innovation to spur organisations’ growth will be unleashed.
Mr Nzeyi is a major shareholder of Crown Beverages Limited, a blue chip beverage company in Uganda manufacturing premium carbonated soft drinks such as Pepsi, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, 7UP, and Evervess that are distributed to markets in Uganda, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Burundi.
Annual turnover of Crown Beverages exceeds UGX 100 billion (over $25million). The company employs a total of 542 staff across Uganda.
When Mr Amoz Nzeyi came back to Uganda from exile in 1986, he noticed a lack of bread production in the country which inspired him to start the Hot Loaf bakery business.
He is also co-owner of the Ugandan Nandos franchise, owner of the hotel White Horse Inn, and the creator and owner of the Palm Valley Golf Course, which is one of the only two private golf courses in East Africa.
Mr Amoz Nzeyi was also a rally champion for many years, winning the 5,000km OAU* Rally event, and won the longest Safari in East Africa that spanned across 7,000km.
*OAU was the Organization of African Unity which was replaced in 2002 by the African Union
The Ugandan Convention is running its fourth forum, an annual event that brings together top corporate and middle level managers, investors, top government officials both from UK and from Uganda, to discuss how best to tap into investment opportunities in Uganda (East Africa) and also how to move their respective businesses/concerns forward.
