One of the focused sessions at this year’s convention is mechanisation of Agriculture in Uganda and Alvan Blanch will show why it is important to investment in the Agri-processing sector.

Alvan Blanch has a partnership with Crowley Engineering, long-time exclusive dealers in Ireland, in which the technical and commercial resources of both companies are pooled on large-scale process plant projects. The partnership successfully completed a $10 million project with Kenana Sugar Co. Sudan to process cane waste (bagasse & molasses) into Pelleted Animal Feed.
Agriculture is the major economic backbone of Uganda, employing over 80% of the country’s labour force, but due to poor investment in the sector, it contributes less than 30% to the country’s GDP. There is a big need to add value to the increased output and to attract investment in Agro processing for export.
